From Tuvalu to Mesopotamia: Why the Future of Democracy Must Become Transparent, Ethical, and Humane to thrive

When Tuvalu announced its decision to become the world’s first fully digital government in response to climate change, history quietly turned a page. A nation facing physical disappearance chose not extinction, but transformation. Territory, in the classical sense, may sink beneath the ocean—but sovereignty, memory, law, and people do not have to vanish with it.

Tuvalu’s decision is not merely technical. It is philosophical. It acknowledges a truth most governments refuse to face: the modern nation-state, as presently constructed, is fragile, corruptible, and often incapable of protecting human dignity in a collapsing world.

Last year, when I formally sent letters seeking to reclaim unclaimed land—Western Sahara and Bir Tawil—as a conceptual sovereign entity I called Southwest Babylon, I did so not out of conquest, but desperation. At the time, my office was located near the Biafra Embassy in The Hague, a city that claims to represent international law and justice.

I came to realize, when life never served it readymade for you, its because you are the architect that builds it.

Despite appeals, despite documentation, despite being a mother with dependent whose rights against corruption should have mattered beyond geopolitics, no international intervention occurred. There is a moral crisis in our times for sure, and it must be end of times with floodings ahead, if humanity has reached a level where animal kingdom seems superior, animal kingdom would never run terror and theft against an independent working mum with kid, I cant see any tomorrows ahead for humanity, when kids are now target to political corruptions

Endless France, UK lawfirms I am reaching would take the money and go quite and times I didnt have neglect pro bono to defend a kids rights, Defenseur Des droits I opened endless cases with, told me they are told they cant intervene, UNICEF France, ICACU, Human Rights organizations, despite there has Always been endless documents against the ongoing Paris ASE corruption order against my kid, they obey political corruption and neglect to stand up to defend a kid's fundamental human rights.

And for my works, I earn nothing, despite attempt to publish some independent publications and productions my funds are stolen over three years, our belongings including business equipment was disposed by UK authorities while I am busy reaching endless lawfirms and human rights organizations to get my kid from corruption he Always had documents against, and having everything disposed, my funds stolen and earning nothing is still my least problem, its my kid I am still struggling to get out from corruption he always had documents against.

I am reaching International Community to help me evacuate my kid and seeking Diplomatic appointment for my Philanthropic works, yet in Geneva I was told that I have to reach to Independent organizations in France and UK and that other countries cant intervene.

For my works, I have seeked and still seeking Diplomatic Representation which is cruficial to get my kid from Political misconduct he is in but no other country want to take diplomatic risk with France, France who choose to carry on having Macron as the dictator head of state, who has been reaching numerous head of states of International Community threaten them if they give me Diplomatic representation.

Compare to Macron who has reached all the way to Vatican to comply to his political corruptions terror and theft, I was not a politician, not a general, just an independent working tourist mum with kid, I did not even speak the language of the power aligned against me.

And that, perhaps, was the point, the international system protects power, never the people, neither human rights or democracy. Tuvalu’s Lesson: Land Is Not the State and has now demonstrated something radical, a government does not need land to exist.

If sovereignty can be digital, ethical, and distributed, then democracy no longer needs to beg permission from corrupt structures rooted in extraction, militarism, and colonial inheritance.

This is where Mesopotamia enters, not as nostalgia, but as intention. Mesopotamia as a New Attempt at Democracy. Mesopotamia, historically, was where law began, not power, but law. The Code of Hammurabi was imperfect, yet revolutionary: rulers were bound by principles, not whim.

The Mesopotamia I propose is not territorial conquest. It is a civilizational framework, a brave transparent digital government grounded in ethics, internationalism, and restraint.

That is the great equalizer politicians fear. We are not meant to spend our lives navigating bureaucratic cruelty, synthetic scarcity, or ideological limitations built to enrich a few.

If Tuvalu can preserve a nation without land, then it is possible, necessary even, to preserve democracy without corruption.

Mesopotamia, as I envision it, is another attempt, an empire, just like when I was sitting in my office next to Biaffra Embassy in Hague last year, drafting Southwest Babylon. This is an attempt for a humane space.
